Dr. Gina Castle Bell holds the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies. She joined our faculty in 2013. She holds a MA degree from the University of Central Florida. Her PhD is from George Mason University where she specialized in Intercultural Communication, or communication across various areas of difference. She studies how messages are produced, transformed, maintained, and repaired in the mass media and in one-on-one communication. She examines the communication of race, racism, privilege, and prejudice in the media and interpersonally; domestic race-related social justice issues; and Black and White Communication specifically. Dr. Castle Bell's areas of expertise include: Intercultural Communication, Co-Cultural Communication, and Research Methods and Methodology. She also works as a speech editor and public speaking coach.
